Compatbility

Smartphones:
Charges all USB Devices including all Apple and Android smartphones.

Tablets:
Charges all tablets that are powered by USB including Apple iPads and Samsung Tablets. Will not charge tablets that charge at 12 or 16 Volts.

Digital Cameras:
Charges both DSLRs and point-and-shoot cameras that charge from USB. For DSLRs, an optional camera charger cradle that matches your camera battery (see Adapter Section) is required. Read our tutorial on solar camera charging.

Microcontrollers:
Compatible with most microcontrollers including Arduino and Raspberry Pi.

Laptops:
Charges most consumer grade laptops (15” or smaller) from one of our Standard or Optional Laptop Adapters.Note: Gaming laptops are not compatible with the V88 due to high power requirements that exceed the maximum output of the the battery.

    I use in combination with two small 60W folding solar panels to power a 15" MacBook Pro and find I can run the laptop all day long, drawing 25 to 65 Watts. The V88 has me covered when clouds all through. And I run Windows 10 on top of Parallels all day for work, so the machine is pulling some wattage. Sometimes I'll run the V88 without the solar panels and it still runs the laptop for an additional 3-4 hours. Would be more like 6 or 7 without Parallels/Windows running. Super investment.

    Using this to extend the run time for my System76 galago pro laptop. Worked very well, then after setting it aside for four months, it would not take a charge. I described the situation to customer service, and they immediately sent me a replacement, no questions asked.

    Very lightweight and easy to use

    I use this as a backup for laptops during power outages. It is the best battery on the market for hurricane prep and disaster readiness. The enclosure is very solid yet surprisingly lightweight. I may get a solar panel for it eventually, but the battery itself is an amazing item.
