Voltaic Messenger Solar Charger

The battery pack can be recharged using the solar panels in the bag, the included AC travel charger, or the car charger. With the adaptors, it a universal charger for both the city and outdoors.

You can transfer power stored in the battery pack to your device whenever you need it.

Charge Indicator: This indicates how much charge is left in the battery and also that it is receiving a charge.

Voltage Converter: A voltage converter switch on top of the battery pack allows you to adjust the power output to suit the device being charged, 3.5, 5, or 7.2 Volts.

Virtually all cell phones, most PDA's, and USB charges run at 5V. The 7.2V setting is useful for devices like larger digital cameras and iPods, or when using a car charger.

LED Torch: There is a very bright LED torch on the face of the battery, which lasts approximately 55 hours on a charge.

The battery pack clips inside the back pocket of the bag, and can be removed for use separately. It is also sold separately with standard adaptors and chargers.

Usage Tips

Selecting the Correct Voltage: The power requirement for a particular device is typically indicated in the product literature, on the device itself, or on the charger (as power output). Most cell phones and PDA's operate at 5V as do charging from a USB charger. When using a car charger, the 7.2V setting is typically required.

Some devices will operate at several voltage settings. For the most efficient use of power, select the lowest setting that powers your device.

Warning: Using higher than the required voltage may damage some devices.

Note: Some devices are designed to work only with factory supplied chargers. In this case, use the factory supplied car charger, and plug it into the car charger socket.

Other devices may require a higher voltage than produced by the battery pack. In this case, use the car charger socket and draw power direct from the solar panels, which produce 10V.
