Imagine our delight when we spotted this Kevin Kelly sculpture at the Dumbo Arts Festival about 100 yards from our offices. We saw the tell-tale design of our 16 Watt solar panels about a block away and quickly ran over to investigate.

Joe O’Connor of OCON Energy Consulting helped integrate the solar and electrical components into Kevin’s sculpture. They used two of our 16 Watt panels to charge up a Xantrex PowerPack 1500 via a Morningstar Charge Controller. They then ran the output of the battery to USB ports and then onto Apple, MicroUSB and MiniUSB cables.

It was definitely a hit and a real conversation starter and looked great in between the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges.
