Q: Can I charge my GoPro cameras while on a rafting trip? A: Yes. GoPro cameras charge from the USB port on the battery included with every Voltaic solar charger. |
What you’ll need: Any of our solar chargers, solar backpacks or universal battery packs. The GoPro battery is charged via a MiniUSB adapter which is included in the standard adapter set. |
Expected performance: The current GoPro is 3.7V, 1100mAh or 4.1 Watt hours. We expect you can charge the GoPro battery from direct sunlight in about 3.5 hours from any of our 4 Watt chargers. When full, the internal battery on the Amp (or Fuse, Switch, OffGrid or Converter) will likely charge the DSI’s battery about 2 times. Rafting often means being in canyons with shorter periods of daylight, but it seems reasonable that you’d get enough to recharge its battery every 1-2 days depending on conditions. |
